...maybe they use the device on stage to control a version running on a MAC in the background. What you see on the big screen is not the device itself they are holding but a simulator. What they have on the screen of their stage device might be a view of the simulator so they have control and less worries of processing power.

Does a simulated iOS environment using x86 Processors actually perform better than a native solution using A-Series processors?

Don't know. Everyone was playing the guessing game so I threw my guess out there as a possibility for discussion.

I want to know how they make it fluid and fast for the events. Do they have special software that is way ahead of our software? Or hardware? Both? I just wish I knew how. You say it was just a 6 or 6+, so I want to know why it works so much better than on our phones?

I'd love to know the answer. They must do something different for the demos. There are never any mistakes and as we've both said, always look so fluid.

That being said, iOS 9 should run so quick on the upcoming iPhones. I can't wait!!

They have internal builds that are farther ahead of what users get and they have builds specifically for WWDC.

Im not even sure we need another beta. Beta 5 is working flawlessly on my iPhone 6, so i wouldn't mind waiting for GM anymore. :)

Agreed. Beta 5 is far superior to any iOS 8 release. I can't recall anything out of the ordinary in two weeks of usage.

I have quite a lot.

Apps aren't as snappy as 8.4.1., spotlight plainly sucks - it's super delayed, the predictions from the keyboard sometimes don't work... there is a million things....

I came to the conclusion that many users here don't pay enough attention to the details on ios 9 and that's why Apple does not care anymore, not that they would actually read this forum but...still...:)Sometimes I wonder if what Apple said about ios 9 that it will be faster and battery life stuff, applies only to the iphones that are gonna be released and not the 6 or the 5s:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Fairly certain they said that in relation to existing hardware.

"Now with battery life, we focused on real-world use cases and optimized them. And we're seeing an addition of one hour of typical use on a full charge on iPhone. Now, we know that for a lot of you if you are running low on power, you start searching all over for switches and turning off features in the hope of extending your battery life a little bit further. Well, now in iOS 9, we give you a single switch to enter what we call Low Power mode, and it pulls levers that you didn't even know existed and is able to extend battery life for an additional three hours of typical use on top of that additional hour. It's really great."

That's everything Craig said about extra battery life during the keynote. It's clear they were talking about the current devices, because why would they tout better battery life if it's only achieved with an unreleased device? They never specified which iPhone would see the extra hour of battery life, but it only makes sense that this would apply at least to the iPhone 6 (if not the 5s as well).

Remember, iOS 9 is still in beta, so that extra hour may not be possible just yet with all of the diagnostic stuff in the betas.

Obviously the numbers they gave as far as extra battery and performance are based off current (newest) devices, so the 6 and 6+. As you move down the line to 5s, 5c, 5, 4s those gains will be less and less. Older hardware obviously won't get the full gains a newer device would.

I have to wonder if you a) did not DFU clean install b) own an iPhone 6.

They have to release a new beta just for SpriteKit alone, because it's completely broken and hopeless by now.

Device-specific images won't appear at random times (it's been broken like that since Beta 1!), and it's incredibly hard for us developers to get our games ready for September 9 when there's no way we can ensure to load all the optimized sprites for every device.

I would like to receive one more beta to get a better performance on iPhone 6 Plus. Battery is decent, though.

I would say there is a fairly good chance of it. The event is 3 weeks away. A build tomorrow would place the "last" build as lasting the final 3 weeks. (Otherwise the current builds we're on will have gone on for 5 weeks if nothing else gets released between now and official release.)

Good point. It's been 14 says since the last beta. If the event does take place on the 9th of September, that'll be 34 days since beta 5. Hopefully, we'll see the sixth beta today and then they'll have another 20 days to work on the final release. We can hope!
