Advice to anyone reporting this to Apple via bug reporter, don't file this as a performance issue, file it under UI/Usability. The problem I think it's that technically the input-blocking during animation is likely intentional, and so Apple may reply that it's working as intended and there isn't any particular "performance" issue.

I recently bought the new iPhone 6S with ios 9.2 .. i never had iphone before, but i know its something wrong with it because it doesnt respond at first tap. It needs 2-3 taps to respond.

I was very scared because i thought it can be a hardware problem, but now i want to believe that is not.

Although i read these pages on this topic, im still thinking that it can be a hardware problem because it responds after 2-3 taps not only on the homescreen after closing some app, it responds only after 2-3 taps everytime, in every app!

Is the same to you? Or the unresponsiveness is only when opening a new app from homescreen after recently closing another?

iPhone 6, 6s and air 2, I've had them all on 9.0 and above, only see the tap delay after closing an app and trying to open a new one immediately.

Issue not present on a 5s running 7.0 or at least not as bad as 9 and above.

I have some missed taps in video but its from filming one hand and using the 5s in its display holder. Towards end of video it shows how responsive it is going in and out of applications. Especially those with icons on the dock.

ohh , the memories of my fast 5s

There's no lag on iOS 9.2:

Complaining that an OS stutters 1 frame or 2 in 60, once in a long time, it's like complaining that a battery needs to be recharged.

Reread the OP. This thread isn't about lag. Turn on reduced motion and try to make your device respond as quick and as smooth as the video in the first post.

I thought the animations were eye candy, which some people want, but I intensely dislike.

Ah.

I dislike them as well, but without them the multitasking menu doesn't work right. I don't like going one after another because I don't shut things down. I end up with a huge number of apps to go through.

It took you 2 taps to do certain things like close control center. Did you not notice? Also, if you wait for the animation to settle down, then tap something it's fine, but from watching the video, I could see you tapping a few times to get what you wanted (like tapping the home screen while you were in multitasking view.

It didn't look to me that he had to tap it twice, just that it was reflex to do so.

Yes, it took 2 "taps", because I was farther than the iPhone than I am accustomed. So I didn't tap the screen, only almost.

Suuuuuuure. Listen, I know what 9.2 is like on my iPhone and it's not like 8.3. It takes multiple taps to do things that used to only take 1. It's not a big deal, but it makes the OS feel clunky.

Suuuuuure, look, if you don't like Apple, don't buy iPhones.

People like you are ridiculous. All I have to say to you.

I like Apple. I just bought an iPad mini 4. However, I'm not too blind to see flaws. The fact is, iOS 9 is not as responsive as iOS 8. Again, not a huge deal, but sometimes I still find myself missing taps because the UI isn't "ready to be tapped".

What you said is totally false, you never prove that, and the video on the first post is totally ridiculous.
