Not sure how you can not oberve the "double taps" needed to launch apps in the 9.1 video compared to the 8.4.1 video.
Because you are faking it, and pressing double.

If you press double on the 8.4.1, the same thing will apply.

I don't need to see videos anyway. I EXPERIENCE it and if you don't believe me, then fine... But I know what my own experiences are.

Suuuuuure, look, if you don't like Apple, don't buy iPhones.

People like you are ridiculous. All I have to say to you.

Sorry, but wanting touch devices respond to touches is not ridiculous. Having to tap twice for the device to even register the command is clearly a minor problem, but it does diminish a good feeling of using a fast, responsive , premium device. It was not present to this extent before and it is present now, so there's that. It is a clear regression no matter how we slice it.

That's why they have the animations, to cover that up. Isn't it?

I thought the animations were eye candy, which some people want, but I intensely dislike.

But you realize that's how every OS out there works right? Animations cover load time. You take out the animations well there's nothing for a split second there; it doesn't speed up the OS at all turning off the animations.

People seem to incorrectly think turning on reduce motion and cutting out the animations should speed up the phone or something. It does nothing to the load times or OS speed whatsoever.

The whole premise of the thread is just ridiculous to expect 100% flawless 24/7 on a mobile device (or even a PC with a lot more processing power there is still lag and hangups). If people are so unhappy to keep making this the biggest deal in their tiny worlds about the .5 seconds of hangup, then go try using Android and you'll appreciate how fast iOS is.

Yes I want iOS get better and faster but posting crying posts about hangups and lag one after another is just so petty. People spend more time complaining about lag and hangups just in 1 complaining post about it then that time lost on their devices in very likely a full week. But then their time was so valuable they couldn't afford that .5 seconds to begin with  It's truly no-win with some people.

I don't think understand what this thread is about, Apple changed code from iOS 8.4.1 to 9, where they now BLOCK INPUT DURING ANIMATIONS (when switching apps). This has the effect of causing some of us or maybe most of us to double/triple tap things. Please watch the videos carefully, the evidence is there, it's 100% reproducible and I outlined the steps to reproduce the issue. It's absurd, it shouldn't be like that. Why did Apple change code from 8.4.1 to 9 to block input during animations?

And by the way, I tried Android on a galaxy s6, it's faster than iOS9 for switching apps, no issue with double/triple tapping.

not sorry, doesn't make any sense.

Try pressing on the older version the same way and it's the same.

It's completely ridiculous, everyone agrees but 2 or 3 of you.

They staterd blocking input in iOS 7.

Galaxy S6?

How much do they pay you?

Apple has been blocking/allowing input inconsistently across several iOS versions, I made a list to keep track of them here:
https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...unresponsiveness.1942001/page-6#post-22331715

While you are right Apple added some input blocking in iOS7, Apple added MORE input blocking from 8.4.1 to 9, specifically when switching apps.

No one paid me anything, I've been a loyal Apple user since the 90s, fact is galaxy s6 responds faster to switching apps than Apple's iOS9, maybe it's slower in other things, but switching apps it never made me double/triple tap while in iOS9, I can even sometimes tap FOUR TIMES before iOS registers my input.

The only one here that doesn't seem to agree or see it is you.

No they didn't start blocking input on iOS 7. iOS 9 started it during the animation transitions between going in and out of apps on the springboard.

I think this guy is trolling.

I don't think they are going to fix this. I do believe it has something to do with how force touch works. Sad that it makes our devices feel significantly clunkier. Even if I did have a 6S I don't think I'd use the feature much. If anything it slows things down. I just want to get into my apps faster like before!!

it eats Androids for breakfast, and I didn't find any bug yet...

MYTHBUSTING LIST:

Springboard animations don't allow user interaction since iOS 9 > Wrong, that's a problem since iOS 7

From your mythbusting thread, Read the most recent comment on the 2 year old youtube video you shared on that thread. I quoted the link to it here. The input issue was fixed in iOS 8. It has since returned in iOS 9. If this doesn't affect you, why are you wasting your time here other than to spin people up?

I hope this thread stays alive as long as needed until Apple fixes the issue.

I also hope this thread helps those that find something annoying about iOS but can't quite identify the issue (as it happened to me), now we can, and we can also file bug reports to Apple.

This is actually the smartest thing you said!

In many ways, Android is smoother and faster. Try scrolling your Facebook feed on a Galaxy S6 and iPhone 6, Galaxy S6 is way smoother (constant 60 fps scrolling) without any hickups or micro-stutter.

That sounds like a Facebook and not iOS issue.

I noticed 9gag also has pretty bad scrolling (used to be perfectly smooth in iOS 8).

Are you sure it's not Facebook messing with their users? They recently came out and admitted to making the FB app on Android crash more to test the loyalty of users. In a couple months we might hear the same thing about scrolling and iOS.

I didn't have issues when I used my 6+, for reference. But I didn't use Facebook.
