Samsung releases leaks to their OS all the time for developers to mess with. Thats why there are so many. Samsng is very good about that.

Oh I agree, just took issue with the other poster's ridiculous comment.

And yes, Samsung Android devices are good but like all other devices, far from perfect.

It's Settings > Mail > Gmail, then scroll to the bottom and there's an on/off option for "Archive Messages." Turning this off lets you delete messages rather than archiving them.

Oh wow, thank you so much for posting this. I've been focusing on Gmail in my Nexus 7 as opposed to the iPhone because of this!

Thanks

As if my experience with the iPhone itself isn't bad enough, the Lightning cable got stuck in my iMac keyboard USB. I'm not the only person that has experienced this, either:

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4321665?start=0&tstart=0

Odd and ridiculous. I had to really wiggle it with a lot of force to get it out. Tried another USB cable and it went in/out perfectly normal.

Apple "quality."

Well I never knew that. Just checked mine and the holes are recessed more than my 30 pin adapter and micro USB leads.

I'll be watching where I plug my lightning cable in from now on I think.

from what I read in that discussion it seems like a pretty easy fix. You can take a plastic tab from a shirt collar and pop it right out. Annoying, but fixable

Alas, I'm making my return this weekend. I bid farewell to the iPhone and am genuinely thankful for it being able to fill the void where the Nexus 4 could not. These are my last words about my iPhone 5 experience:

The iPhone is the most overrated piece of modern technology. And iOS is an operating system that is frightening far from advance.

There is so much hope in the jailbreak community. It's both a pleasant glimpse into how much potential iOS has and a bitter reminder that it's Apple themselves that keep that potential at bay.

I'm grateful for Apple's lenient return policy and in that respect, I'll continue (as I would have either way) supporting them where I think they still shine... Macs and OSX (if anyone needs a reminder, I'm a proud owner of an iMac, rMBP 13", Thunderbolt Display, Airport Extreme, and other accessories. Recently bought a Macbook Air for a family member, too.)

Thanks to all those that suggested amazing jailbreak apps, tweaks, and workarounds to my issues. They helped.

Back to greener and freer pastures... :)

If you want to talk about abusing policy, please talk to the people who exchange their iPhones for the most minute of "flaws". There are endless threads about that in the iPhone forums, especially when a new one is launched. I personally don't care nor find anything wrong with that, but please, if you're going to pick on "abusers," they should be first in your line.

And as an owner of macs, apple accessories, an iPad, and gifter of a Macbook Air, I don't think Apple is too upset by me returning one little iPhone.

How is it abusing if it's within their own policies, anyway?

I'm sure it was under 30 days. Anything longer and he wouldn't be able to abuse Apple's return policy like he is.

Ive seen worse in here by others that have broken the device themselve and expecting Apple to replace it for free...or taking tehir phone back because the buttons arent flush enough or any other dunb excuse to keep returning them for new ones.

How is he abusing Apple's return policy?

Buying a phone as basically a loaner until another phone comes out knowing going in that there is no intent to keep it.

Dishonest stuff like that is what causes stores to have to clamp down on their return policies for everyone.

It was interesting following this thread. Although I found that onthecouchagain was being way too nitpicky as if he wanted to hate it and therefore was looking for flaws instead of discovering them, it was a still a fun read.
I look forward to the sequel to this saga: wanting to love the HTC One and looking for things to love in it. :D

Seriously though, I think the HTC One is awesome. But just trying to highlight the fact that if one already believes in something, it subconsciously alters one's perception on that thing. You go looking for evidence that reinforces your belief and disregard what goes against it. Human nature really.

My friend like i say on the thread about apple sending a better spec machine than was paid, well its not couch problem if apple allows people to return products for a full refund for that long.

Apples policy, if you think is dishonest well email your suggestion that they change how they deal with customers returns.

If it's true I was looking for flaws, then Apple made it awfully easy to find them. :)

Yup. This happens.

Regarding Ugahairydogs and his definition of "abuse," the only proper reply is:

Nope everyone has a right to return the phone in the return window no matter what the motive. Apple has to know people will return the phone. They would not have a return window if they did not. It is in everyone right to return it in that window. You just don't like it because you think he never wanted the iPhone in the first place.

So I retract what I said about him not abusing the return policy. Onthecouchagain does this for every phone. I just looked at the HTC One thread and he was talking about the return policy for it. He also gives me crap for liking the nexus 4, and not thinking it really needs any adjustments. He said because I am fine with the camera the way it is, and not caring if there is more storage that I am "starting to sound like iPhone apologist". All he does it try every phone he can, and then return them before the return policy is over.

He returned 3 nexus 4's because they had bad sound or something in the earpiece. I have not had one issue with the nexus 4. His post are now worthless to me.

You are absolutely correct. About the HTC One, he said
"Ugh, and again... can't help looking at the stupid reconfiguration of the home buttons as the reason for this wholly unnecessary issue that they created for themselves.

Seriously, you have to ask yourself, what do you stand to gain by reconfiguring the home and back button ? What do you stand to gain? The only thing I can think of is a place for your logo. And that's a very poor reason."

He doesn't even have the phone yet, but already has complaints about it...Why even get the phone then? It makes no sense. Of course, we will be subjected to 1-2 weeks worth of incessant whining about the many ways that phone comes up short for him. It really is ridiculous.

It really blows my mind. I can't believe I join in a discussion about the nexus 4. I am not the only that feels like it is a good phone. There is no perfect phone, and there are things I will not like about every phone I have. I just fine that stock android is the best version of android, and the phone works well.

Like you said how can he complain about a phone he does not even have yet? He is going to use it for 14 days and return it too. What phone is he using now? How do you know if you like an OS if you keep switching over and over again?

10 bucks couch will end up with the gs4 :D
