If that’s the case I assume the 128 GB $1099.00 pro max should also be $0 down correct?

They said that it would be like last years iPhone 11 Pro Max price plan $199, $299, $399 down, but I haven't seen anything to confirm that. The T-Mo rep was guessing I think.

Anyone buy from T-Mobile before but get AppleCare+ direct from Apple? I’m looking at pre ordering the 12 Pro tomorrow morning and do not want to pay for the protection 360 premium. The $615 I’ll get for my X means ordering the phone direct from Apple would be silly. And I don’t upgrade yearly anymore so bill credits do not bother me at all.

I’m thinking it will work just fine to add AppleCare+ on through Apple direct - but thought I’d double check here.

You can add Applecare+ anytime within the allowed time period of 60 days I believe if it has no issues or defects.

I have AppleCare+ monthly through Apple. You're going to have to be REAL SPECIFIC when ordering your phone from T-Mobile. They always try to add protection. It's NOT required no matter what they tell you. I had a huge hassle last year and ended up asking them to put blocks on my lines that are JoD to prevent Protection 360 from being added.

Ok glad to hear it can be done. I’ll triple check the protection 360 to make sure not on order.

Yeah, I did that with an iPhone 8 and an iPhone 8 Plus I bought a couple years ago. After getting the phone from Tmobile I went to Apple and had AppleCare+ added.

So I've never pre-ordered through Tmobile before, always pre-ordred straight from Apple. This year I'm thinking about pre-ordering from Tmobile. So do T-mobile pre-orders usually get delivered on launch day?

I looked at that since I am a long time T Mobile customer and their trade in $ is much better than Apple plus the $200 Mastercard rebate for 5+ year customers....

But 30 months is gruesome!

Since I switch out every year, I am looking at getting the 12 Pro, trading in my 11 for $350, doing an Apple Card 24 months at 0%, pay off early within the first year, get 3% Apple Cash and be able to get the next model in a year.

Your thoughts @nateatlarge ??

Great plan!. I was tempted to go with the T-mobile offer, but when I saw 30 months, I realized I would only be credited $16.66 a month for 30 months for my 11 pro trade in.

I'd rather get the $450 trade in from Apple up front plus the 3% Apple Cash.

Soooo......something just happened that I didn't even consider. A rep told me that iPhone 12 may not even be offered on JoD. I don't know how to react to that.....

BECU is a pain in the ASS. They locked my card out because I paid off my remaining balance on my EIP. I only owed $200.00 dollars and card is locked. So I have been on hold now for 45 minutes. I am losing my sh*t....

On the plus side I can notify my bank that I am spending $4,000 dollars on Apple stuff so they better not lock me out like last year.

That would be a total DICK move on T-Mobile and I would leave them for that. Apple and T-Mobile are being scummy this year.

I could just pay off my hardware and move over to Apple's upgrade program if this were true. Just seems super crappy of T-Mobile if it came out that way. It would cause me a delay in getting new devices for sure. The rep was really nice and polite and admitted that he was just speculating, but "has seen it before"

Is there any reason you can’t just buy the iPhone 12 Verizon or att version and then just use it on the T-Mobile network? This would be a way to buy the phone for full and avoid the $30. Thoughts?

How to phone trade-ins work if pre-ordering by calling in or online? Can you bring the phone you are trading in to a store? I'd much rather do that then mail it in.

You can, but if past years are an indicator, stock in the stores will be minimal to non-existent.

The 30 bucks is only valid on an active line with those carriers. There is a dumb clause of 45 days on their network pluses 2 bill cycles

Good luck to everyone preordering tomorrow. Been a while since I’ve done this. What’s fastest when having to order and trade in a phone - Ordering off website, 611 or chat?

It actually sounds like they are giving a big chunk of the trade in up front. Apple would give me $250 for my X, but T-mobile is offering $415 with $193 credited immediately and then only $222 paid out over the 30 months or $7.40 a month. So after 8 months I've equaled the Apple deal and I get to save $7.40 a month for 22 more months. And I still get 3% back since my T-mobile bill goes to my AppleCard monthly. If I want to upgrade sooner than 30 months they assured me I can pay the phone off early and still get my monthly credits for the rest of the 30 months. To me it seems purchasing through T-mobile is the way to go. My only downside is the phone being locked until paid off but that's not really a downside for me, as I'm not planning to switch from T-mobile anytime soon and I have the ability to pay it off any time.
