I got the carrier update. Restarted my iPhone and the icon showed up and successfully sent two pictures to two different people on two different carriers. So all is good for me.

Works update ny, got update, rebooted. Sent a MMS pic to a palm pre, he sent back to me. So far so good.

Wow, its not even worth sending video. Have you guys seen the quality? yuck! How can we allow for better bitrate cause this is the worst video mms i have ever sent.

The update is out in Nashville and there's only one cpu with iTunes on it, so everyone is updating on it. It only takes a minute and it works fine. I updated from the hack with no problems.:D:cool:;):D:cool::p:D:):D;):confused:

Working in New Jersey... jacked right now. Now we have it all... copy/paste, landscape texting, mms... what are we all going to complain about now!?

The carrier file update does not show up if you haven't upgraded to to 3.0. Only the 3.1 update message. This is what I'm getting. Anyone else confirm?

Suffolk County, Long Island, New York

Updated carrier file to 5.5 on my 3G and my g/f's 3GS

send/receive test from both handsets via 3G network: works!
send/receive test from both handsets via Wifi: works!

edit: both phones updated via iTunes 9 and both phones were rebooted... "just to be sure" :D

I just downloaded the update file via iTunes, restarted my iPhone and now MMS is working. Try updating your iPhone via iTunes,. Good luck.

BTW: I am in San Diego, CA

Is the update needed to also *receive* MMS messages?

I believe so. I tested this case yesterday w/ the 5.1 carrier file on the sending side and the stock 5.0 carrier file on the receiver and the receiver did NOT receive the MMS. (it did when the receiver was updated to 5.1 though)

Anyone in Manhattan successfully send an SMS?

I updated and every time I try to send a message it fails. Rebooted twice and nothing. Is the network down?

Boston is LIVE

BUT Im on 3.0.1 and I can't get the new file without going to 3.1.
So I did the manual upgrade.

Im sure someone will post the file here and then I can load the update manually.
