Hm, interesting, I removed the airtag from my account. No more find my background activity, But the same level of battery drop overnight, 20% by doing nothing. wtf.
Interestingly enough, today it seems back to normal..This has happened to me last night as well after removing the AirTag post updating to iOS 14.8. This is a change in behaviour. Previously when I unpaired the AirTag it immediately improved the battery life on my phone.

But you are on a beta! Isn’t that what betas do?Just got this issue on my new iPhone 13 Pro Max. 15% battery drain while I was asleep, all attributed to Find My. I'm on iOS 15 beta (15.1).
Anyone with an iPhone 13 Pro Max knows that the battery dropping 15% overnight is ridiculous.
This has been happening for me since I got my Airtag, on an iPhone 11 without the beta. But you are on a beta! Isn’t that what betas do?
still bad and not fixed for my eyes!New iPhone 13 mini. SIM switched off, barely using it for the moment. This is the result (sorry, Dutch language):

1 minute using and 50% battery drain (9h after charging). As you see on the other activities: mail was used for 2 minutes, background activity took 23% of battery time.
I have airtags connected, but are not close to the phone.
iOS 15.0.1.
Indeed, something is not correct...
Try turning off find my network. That fixed all draining issues for me.I'm also at 10% usage now, and that is AFTER UNPAIRING the Airtags.
There are two active in the house, but not connected to my account.
I'm sure this will fix it, but I still want to use the network for iPhone, AirPods, Macs, etc.Try turning off find my network. That fixed all draining issues for me.

Disabling it will still allow all your devices to work in find my like they have traditionally, through the internet. You’ll be losing the feature to find your devices if they’re turned off or not connected to the internet, however.I'm sure this will fix it, but I still want to use the network for iPhone, AirPods, Macs, etc.
It's mind boggling that an unpaired AirTag two rooms over is still draining the battery of the phone in the range of 10% per day.
