Nope, same behavior, even with find my network off. It was my last resort.
i'm done.

I turned Bluetooth Off and Find My does not even feature any longer in battery usage.

yes of course it doesnt since that is how it communicate.
We can also close the phone completely and save battery.

Those are not solutions, this is not nokia 3110, we paid for some services and features for the phone.

I am of the same idea. No point in closing all the services down and then call it a smartphone.

I’ve been having this problem ever since I got AitTags at launch, but last night was the worst drain I’ve noticed. iPhone 12 Pro went from 93% when I went to bed to 36% when I woke up. (Battery health is 100%.) Find My was shown to be the culprit. (Strangely, on my XS Max, Find My was also using 100% each hour last night, but the battery did not drain. It’s on 15.1 beta, whereas the 12 Pro is on 15.0.2.)

Maybe they use a different calendar? :D
I was thinking that. Perhaps the individual is Coptic. (Their new year is apparently celebrated by 300 million people in September.) There are a few other calendars with new years after April 30, but Coptic appears to be the most widely observed.

Yeah yeah, it was a mistake. Seems like a long time ago since I bought it. Think I got mixed up with when I bought my AirPods Pro. That was back in 2001 I think... :)

Looking back at my original message back on first page of this thread it was in May. Close.. only 5 months off.

Having what I believe is the same issue.

Latest iOS 15.0.2. iPhone 13 Pro. Have 4 AirTags. For the past 4-5 days Overnight I left my phone without charge and in 6hrs there was about 20% battery drawn each day. This also happens on two of my iPads too (Pro 10.5 & Pro M1)

I looked at what caused the issues and it was mainly Find My iPhone app >>>> myQ >> Tesla >> Bose Music >>>> Siri (turned off Siri Standby mode, when it was on the drain was worse).
For 3rd party apps I even turned off the Background App Refresh option, and I do think while it said they had background activities I don't think their drain was as hard as Find My iPhone.

There is no way for me to turn this off temporarily say if I were in sleep mode or something, and the only way is by completely turning off Find My iPhone which I do not want to do.

I think a battery drain of 3-4%/hr is a bit too much. in 8hrs it means I will be losing 30% or more.

I contacted Apple support, got transferred over 3 times, eventually wanted me to go to Apple Store as the only thing they told me to do was to completely shut off Find My iPhone or put the phone on Low Power Mode.

Where can I raise this issue to have Apple fix/enhance this issue?

I had a similar experience with the tile. I think the location services for these devices are impacting the battery more then people expected.

battery life was one reason why I stopped using the tile. Hopefully this won’t be the case for my air tag

I also had a similar issue thus I no longer use Tile. But with the latest iOS 15 (which with iOS 14 I did not have an issue with), this is just like Tile now. Very stressful.

What I did was create automation to disable Bluetooth at bedtime and another to enable Bluetooth when I wake up. That has other ramifications, like my Apple Watch has to use Wi-Fi overnight, which isn’t a big deal for me, but the Watch battery drains faster.

I did have the issue with iOS 14, too. I just don’t understand why it seems intermittent for me.

Thanks. Do you mind sharing that script if possible? I'm fairly new at this and realized that there are a lot of options I can do.

I'm thinking of actually also turning on Low Power Mode when my focus mode is in sleep mode.

Sure. Open the Shortcuts app, tap the Automation tab along the bottom, tap + to add an automation, then Create Personal Automation.

Add New Automation, tap Sleep > Bedtime Begins > Add Action > Set Bluetooth Off > Disable Ask Before Running.

Then repeat to enable Bluetooth when waking up (or whatever time you want).

There’s nothing you can do apart from just keep chatting or talking to Apple. This is down to AirTags. So basically tell them that you’d like to return them because they’re not fit for purpose. If you see some of my earlier posts you’ll see I have done a lot of the steps you all are following now. Eventually I’ve just disconnected the AirTags from find my and it’s all back to normal.

Go to https://feedbackassistant.apple.com/ and file a bug report.

Select "iOS & iPad OS" for the report, then you can select "Find My" for the area, "Battery Life" for the feedback type and "Items" in the last menu. Add a title and describe the issue you're having. The more reports, the more it is likely that Apple will take a look and address the issue.

Nope, turned it off and threw it in a drawer. Until apple fixes it I’m not going to use it anymore. I couldn’t be bothered with all the troubleshooting and stuff apple wanted me to go through to be honest. I know it’s the AirTags. Have better things to do in life. I was surviving fine before having one and I’ll survive without using it.

When you exit out for the day, make sure that you have exited your apps, you generally close them, but you have to close them to be sure your battery dropping isn't from having a lot open. My wife does that and her battery drops considerable

That sounds understandable. You're talking about force-quitting them. I can try force-quitting Find My iPhone tonight and see.

that was maybe true many iOS before. I never quit an app with force-exit, iOS manage them almost perfect now. Especially on my iPad it is a mess an no battery draining or performance lag. Of course i tried to do that with all the apps and "find my" it has no effect.
It is just a placebo, i have hikvision and Nedis IOT the apps never force exit and the background usage is normal.

Also i never understood the "background app refresh" i have them all turned off and i get push notifications like normal

Push notifications still work with app refresh disabled. (I also have background app refresh disabled.) App refresh is for stuff like background fetching and location tracking for some apps.

Do not do this. This is for when you have a problem with an app, like it's stuck. An example would be to force quit an app you saw it using 100% battery, or the app was frozen, or perhaps it was draining battery. (In this case, Force Quit FindMy doesn't fix battery issues, so not helpful after you've tried once) You will probably use more battery re-loading the state of all your apps after force-quitting them....

Disablng background refresh is a more sensible approach. But again, as @great_vc said, turning off your iPhone will save battery too.
