yeah, can you image the TONS of feedback mails they got ! some of them goes to the bin automatically i'm sure.
so i really thing that only some viral influencer (for god's sake) or something can push them.
I've been running the betas of Apple's software for years (and others before that). True, they get lots of feedback - I suspect they likely have some AI doing the first level sorting of the reports by now. AI is very good at interpreting trends - so more common bug reports boil up to the top first.

My phone is draining like crazy, warm and huge battery usage by Home Screen and find My ever since I got the Air tags on the new firmware.

can someone tell me how to update this thing. It was next to my phone all night and still has .25 version.

That topic is actually over here:

But, to answer your question - you'll update from .225 to .276 after your iPhone pulls down the update. It's similar to the Apple Watch updates - pulled down but the phone, then pushed to the other device.

Nothing you can really do to force it. Make sure you have bluetooth and wifi enabled and a decent internet connection, make sure your iPhone is on the charger.

Hopefully you don't have ridiculous firewall rules in place on your WAP/router that would preventing the iPhone from hitting Apple's software distribution network (if other over the air updates work fine, then you should be good).

Yes sorry about the off topic.
About that you are wrong, it is not the same thus the questions all around. On apple watch you have a button "install update".

I had it all night next to my iphone, nothing. i read somewhere and it worked, i remove it from the silicon key ring case and put it "naked" directly next to the iphone even touching it. 20 minutes later update was done. Same procedure for the new one that just arrived today.

And on topic, i remove the air tag from my iphone. The drain battery is awfull. Maybe after and if they fix it or i will sell them.

Hmm. I wonder if the option on the watch isn't just telling the phone to download it. :). (the radios on the watch are quite weak - not the best performance downloading to the watch unless it's via your phone in close proximity).
I just kicked off the WatchOS Beta 2 download on my iPhone - same - downloading to the phone first.

You should be using feedback to report the battery drain (the more info the Apple devs get, the more likely they are to find the race conditions causing these). Mine are still around 2%, with 3 of them in use.

You could try re-pairing the airtag to see if that doesn't wake up the software update in Find My that will need to be pushed over. (the update will be sent to the airtag over bluetooth).

Still the same battery drain. even with bluetooth off.. This time it shows up as Home and Lock Screen battery drain.

are you making sure that you have properly exited your applications on your device. I know on my ipad, I have to double click the button on it to bring up all the stuff that I have exited, but is still running in the background. Check that, and then check that you are not running that findme in the backgroupd

although that is an old trick with previous OS but now the app memory and battery management is not the same like years ago so there is no difference. I have apps running for months in the background even security apps for cameras that give motion detection alerts and the background activity is 1%.
And yes of course i also have tried that. it makes no difference. It just bad coding and a bug. If you have it, there is nothing you can do

I am about to link my AirTags to my other iPhone because the "find my" app is draining the battery on my 12 PM like crazy. It is constantly in the top 5 of my battery consuming apps and also runs during the night

Too early to be totally sure. Also, it's been an issue on my iPad, but iPad OS update was not released yet.

Nope it hasn’t. Last night it drained over 20% battery for me by just running in the background.

Stop running it in the background. that should fix your problem. In fact do you need everything you have running in the background? I was having a problem similar and decided that I didn't need facebook or its messenger running in the background and saved 25% power. Then I changed location and whatever else to when using the app, then I exited all apps and I am just finer than the fuzz on a bumble bee.

running what on the background ? which part of bug and problem is not clear. ok we close the apps on the background like we did 10 years ago. Do you see any difference on the airtag ? what does facebook and messenger has to do with this? Unless you are suggesting that we gain 25% by closing this so loosing 25% by airtag balances it o_O

Doesn't matter if its force-closed or not. Still shows as background activity on the battery analysis.

How do you know it is the air tags causing the problem?

ok, I am updating my ipad and charging it up to 100%. Let me see if I have the same issue you are claiming. 24 hours with no charge and let Findmy run inthe background, right? or do I click on find my Airtag and let it just sit?

I want the similar conditions you have. I have an ipad Pro so we shall see how this does.

Do nothing with the app. Let it sit idle over night.

The iPad doesn’t have the same hardware as the iPhone though. There needs to be an air tag paired with the device as well.

Regardless. It shouldn't drain a battery overnight. My new iPad Pro 12.9 is fine; my newer 8 gen iPad and iPhone 11 PM are terrible. They have from 40-80% background usage routinely.
