the sdk requirements make any useful app violate them
You guys are wrong, this app does provide a valuable function.
It shows everyone what a bunch of uptight, humorless drones iPhone users are.
Idiots.
am i missing something? do they have a business or corporate version of itunes?
am i missing something? do they have a business or corporate version of itunes?
Precisely.Someone should release a free version of this that looks the exact same, or at least very similar, but uses cubic zirconia.
Good point. How about letting only those who bought the app to review it.Also, imo, this also points out a big problem with the app store reviews: the store lets you "review" an application without even purchasing it. What's the point? I see apps now where folks are writing things like "1 Star this shouldn't cost $10." Same thing applies here. C'mon Apple... at least indicate whether someone has bought it or not.
Since it's red, does a share of the profit automatically go to help support AIDS in Africa causes?
Oh, come on everybody, lighten up! This app is obscene conspicuous consumerism and embodies the "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" America at its best. It exists because there's a subset of consumers for whom money simply doesn't matter...
The app is not available on the store anymore...
As hilarious as I think this is, I really think Apple should moderate the App Store.
Lame! I was content just enjoying all of the ridiculous posts about this app, but by pulling it downdid the wrong thing. The AppStore consumers should govern (with their wallets) what is worth purchasing and what is not.
This is a sad day . . .
I thought it was going to be a good day.
Seriously . . . LAME!
Diamonds aren't rare. In fact, if we consider the author to have a monopoly over the diamond software market the reason this app is expensive isn't that far from why real diamonds are. Of course, there's nothing stopping that monopoly from being broken...
Real diamonds are not anywhere near as rare as most people think. There are mountains of diamonds piled up in South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and many other places. They only seem rare as the DeBoors company wants you to think they are rare. In fact synthetic diamonds are now able to be manufactured up to a few carats in size and the quality is better than any "real" diamond dug up in the desert somewhere. Anyone who buys a real diamond is almost as stupid as the person who buys this app.
Wrong.... diamonds are NOT RARE at all, your perception of diamonds created by advertising has made you think this way. There are tons, and TONS of diamonds in storage to keep the market the way they want it. Diamonds are a shiny rock and people pay thousands, even millions for them.
This app is about perception, not value, this app is a perfect example of a free market, it's worth what people pay.
Pictures are a dime a dozen... even the painted kind? Like the works of art worth millions? Everyone has their own idea of what has value, and clearly we all differ in that opinion.
I don't see value in the app either but I that's the great thing about art, it's wroth what the market will bring. While on vacation up near Yellowstone park I just watched a man purchase a carved wooden bear for $14,500 + tax and paid lord knows what to have it shipped to his home. To me it was rather ugly.. big chunk of wood, but to each his own.
Perception and value... things that make you mmmm....
That's what De Beers wants you to think. Diamonds are NOT expensive because they are rare, they aren't even rare, they are expensive because De Beers controls the market. There are loads of gems that are much rarer than diamonds which can be bought for a fraction of the price of a diamond.
I am actually perfectly aware of the diamond market, although I'll admit that my post didn't reflect it. Diamonds are not a "rare" earth mineral, that is true; however, being that the market is largely controlled by DeBeers, diamonds are a "rare" commodity in the market. Because of the limited number of diamonds available in the open market, they are valuable.Hate to inform you of this but 'real diamonds' are NOT rare. They are one of the most common crystals on the planet. Nothing but pressure induced carbon. Their value is a commerical gimmick.
This still is very different from a mediocre graphic of a diamond costing $1000; it isn't art, it's a rip off.
