Give me an iPad Mini 6 with the Pro design (and similar specs)
The Pro Mini will never happen. Best we could realistically hope for is the same design as the latest iPad Air 4 with touch id in the power button. I'd buy one (eventually, since my Mini 4 is still ok).

But all the recent rumours suggest it would instead be iPad Air 3 design. So, slightly slimmer bezels but still a home button and a lightning port. I personally don't see a point in such a refresh as it's too similar to existing Mini 5, which performance-wise would remain capable for years to come, having the A12. Just drop the price $100 and be done with it.

If apple make an iphone like this there would be no need for a mini tablet ;)

Foldable devices like phones won’t make a mass market comeback. They are expensive, more prone to breaking, and to top that off the small tablet form factor is a niche in iPad land.

Yeah people hoping for a Mini Pro don’t hold your breath. Highly unlikely to happen. A Mini Air is much more likely but if the current rumors are true, we’re not even getting that.

An iPad Air 3 design would make it incompatible with Apple Pencil second generation. Anyway, no big expectations whatever happens.

In addition to that, latest rumors are even ignoring the renovation of iPad mini (moving it later in the year), that is even worse... ? I want to see a new iPad mini as soon as possible!

Remember, it took Apple 4 years to update from the mini 4 to the 5. Wouldn’t be surprised if they went another 4 years. They don’t care about the Mini.

That was probably a bit of an outlier. They didn't expect to continue the line at all, but it still sold despite being outdated and cut down to one 128GB model, so they decided to make the mini 5. A 2 year cycle seems a good balance for something that is a solid seller, but not seemingly a core focus for the lineup. Even the flagship iPad pros aren't updated on a regular 12 month cycle, only the iPhone seems to reliably get that recently.

I am so disappointed that there won't be a release next week.... I want either pencil support on the iPhone Pro Max's or small bezel on the mini with pencil support.... It would be nice if it was Pencil 2 or newer :)

I would happily replace my 2018 11” Pro with an 8.X” Mini Air if they were to build one. For my consumption/uses, it’s a perfect substitute. If real work is to be done, I’m breaking out the Mac. Otherwise, a lighter full screen device is very appealing. Sorry Apple, no keyboard sale with that.

What exactly are you basing that on? People said the same thing about the Mac mini and now it's got a M1.

From what I've heard the new iPad mini is slated to become a Pro model. Doesn't exactly sound like Apple is not giving it any love.

I’m basing it on it’s the least updated iPad model. FOUR years between the 4 and 5 and all iPads have been updated, some multiple times, since the last iPad mini update. iPad mini pro rumors are just that, rumors .

I really, really want a new style mini. The standard ones are way too big to hold in one hand while biking at the gym. Take my damn money, Apple.

Great question. Here we are more than 7 months from this post being made and still nothing. Apple has never even confirmed one is coming. Its vaporware.

Well, Apple very rarely confirms upcoming products prior to announcement. The only two times in the modern era I can think of that have been in 2012 and 2017, when they confirmed a new Mac Pro was coming 'eventually'.

Rumors are pretty strong that we'll get it this quarter, possibly even at next week's iPhone event. I'm excited to see how it turns out, could be a great little device
