After resetting the keyboard dictionary , it seems to have helped some. I’ve done that before and it just gets worse and worse as the keyboard learns

No lag yet, but it usually takes a day or two after installing a new beta before it becomes noticeable.

I still haven't seen any yet since I resetted the keyboard dictionary on Sunday. Installed 14.1 yesterday. Time will tell, I didn't see any mention of it being addressed in the release notes.

I really hope they don’t decide to release 14.2 with this lag, but I fear they will.

Confirmed here. Lag is still there. Not as frequent but annoying when it happens. Not a beta thing. All other phones in my household that are on the latest official release experience it.

I had this too since 14.0 release and now on 14.1. I went to Settings, General and then Dictionary and removed a bunch of dictionaries that appeared to get added after messing with the new Translate app. Since removing them and using the two English dictionaries, no more lag. Somehow related or it resolved something else.

Still having this issues w/ iPhone 12 Pro w/ clean OS - didn’t restore from backup. Little over this iOS14 BS.

I only have the 2 English keyboards checked off and it seemed to be working fine, but the lag started again. Not as bad as before though.

So far, this has worked for me. Also removed a few languages from the list. Lag was gone. Went back to the Translate app, translated a couple sentences. Languages were again check-marked in the dictionary list and lag was back.

all I have checked is both English (US) and Apple Dictionary...

would you recommend removing Apple dictionary (what is that?)

or the one for thesaurus?

Those are the only ones I have checked also. The Apple dictionary I believe includes things like contact names, businesses, regional holidays and well-known names and places. Still no lag...

Maybe it re indexes when it downloads. I’ll see

Still experiencing typing and touchscreen issues on an iPad Pro, iPhone SE and iPhone 11 Pro Max. Did a clean install on the Max to give my wife and I hear it all day now from her. This is ridiculous.
